For Friday's episode of The Sports Scouting Report Podcast With Lee Brecheen, Lee interviews former Major League Baseball relief pitcher Mike DeJean. Mike spent almost a decade in the major leagues playing for the Colorado Rockies, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Baltimore Orioles, and the New York Mets. Just as incredible as his professional baseball career was is his story how he got there as Mike originally played shortstop during his college career at Mississippi Delta Community College and Livingston University. After pitching in the Division II College World Series in relief for Livingston, Mike found himself signing a professional contract and the rest is history. The Walker, LA native talks about his incredible story as well as what he is doing now in Monroe helping West Monroe High School's girl softball team out.
