Episode 157: LSU Football Spring Recap Part 3 (Linebackers, Secondary, Kickers/Long Snappers) & Kim Mulkey Named LSU Head Women's Basketball Coach

For Monday's episode of The Sports Scouting Report Podcast With Lee Brecheen, Lee concludes his spring recap of LSU Football as he digs deep into the linebacking unit, the secondary, and the kickers/long snappers. Finally, Lee gives his initial thoughts on LSU hiring Baylor Hall of Fame Coach Kim Mulkey as its new head women's basketball coach. Lee explains why this was a home run hire by Scott Woodward. Coach Mulkey is the first person to win a national championship as a player, assistant coach, and as a head coach. The former Louisiana Tech All-American point guard returns back to her home state after winning three national championships, 12 Big 12 Titles, and 632 games in 21 seasons at Baylor. 

Episode 156: Former C.E. Byrd High School Head Football Coach Mike Suggs

For Friday's episode of The Sports Scouting Report Podcast With Lee Brecheen, Lee interviews former C.E. Byrd High School head football coach Mike Suggs, who just announced his retirement after 23 years as the head man for the Yellow Jackets. During his Hall of Fame head coaching career, Coach Suggs has led the Yellow Jackets program to 167 wins, six district championships, and two state championship runner up finishes in 2013 and 2020. Coach Suggs talks about what got him started in coaching 35 years ago, the special teams he has coached over the years, the greatest players he has coached, and finally, gives his thoughts on the passing of legendary Parkview Baptist High School head football coach Kenny Guillot. It is a great show as the winningest coach in C.E. Byrd history reflects on his many great memories with the school that he has been around during his incredible tenure with the school.

Episode 155: Sports Agent Leigh Steinberg & LSU Football Spring Recap (Defensive Line)

For Wednesday's edition of The Sports Scouting Report Podcast With Lee Brecheen, Lee interviews one of the nation's top sports agents in Leigh Steinberg. Over his incredible career, Steinberg has represented over 300 professional athletes in football, baseball, basketball, boxing, and even in the Olympics. Throughout a span of 47 years, Steinberg has represented eight number one NFL Draft picks as well as NFL Hall of Famers Troy Aikman, Steve Young, Warren Moon, Bruce Smith, etc. Steinberg is also the real life inspiration for the famous sports movie "Jerry Maguire" starring Tom Cruise. In this interview, Steinberg talks about some of his current clients that are getting ready for the NFL Draft next Thursday, some of his Louisiana athletes that he has represented over the years, and so much more. Also, for a bonus, Lee Brecheen talks about why the LSU defensive line may be one of the deepest he has ever seen come through Baton Rouge after spring ball.

Episode 154: LSU Football Spring Recap (Offense)

For Monday's episode of The Sports Scouting Report Podcast With Lee Brecheen, Lee breaks down the LSU Football Spring Game and talks about the offensive side of the football. Lee breaks down the four man quarterback competition as well as the other offensive position groups including the running backs, receivers, tight ends, and offensive line. Also, Lee predicts on what type of team the Tigers will have in the upcoming fall. Today's episode will focus more specifically on the offensive side of the football for the Bayou Bengals. Episode 153: Former Mississippi State Quarterback And Current St. Joseph Catholic High School (MS) Head Football Coach John Bond

For Friday's episode of The Sports Scouting Report Podcast With Lee Brecheen, Lee catches up with legendary Mississippi State quarterback John Bond, who was the only quarterback in college football history to defeat LSU four times from 1980-1983. Bond also led the Bulldogs to one of the biggest victories in program history with a 6-3 victory over Paul "Bear" Bryant's Alabama Crimson Tide in 1980. Another incredible feat Bond accomplished was that his rushing total stood for a SEC record until the likes of Matt Jones (Arkansas), Tim Tebow (Florida), and Mississippi State's own Dak Prescott and Nick Fitzgerald broke his record. For today's episode, Bond talks about his greatest memories playing at Starkville, his thoughts on how head coach Mike Leach is doing with the current Mississippi State program, the new NCAA transfer rule, and finally, talks about being the head football coach at St. Joseph Catholic High School in Madison, Mississippi.

Coach Almond is one of the greatest Louisiana high school basketball coaches of all time as over his 41 seasons as a head coach, the 2017 Louisiana High School Sports Hall of Fame inductee has won 932 games and three state championships over his incredible career. Today, Coach Almond talks about his favorite moments over his coaching career, building the Woodlawn Panthers into a winning basketball program, some of the best players he has coached, his undefeated 2003 state championship squad, and finally, gives his thoughts on what is going on in college basketball today.

The longtime signal caller talks about his journey from LSU to Northwestern State to his professional career, being in a quarterback competition at LSU with two other NFL quarterbacks, what made Brett Favre so great when backing the NFL Hall of Famer during his time at Green Bay, and what he is doing now. Episode 150: Nicholls State Head Baseball Coach Seth Thibodeaux

Coach Thibodeaux has done a marvelous job in turning the Nicholls baseball program around into one of the best in the Southland Conference. The 2014 Southland Conference Coach of the Year has also sent 18 of his players to the professional leagues over the last eight years. He has also set a high mark in academics as the Colonels baseball squad has averaged at least a 3.0 GPA seven seasons in a row. Coach Thibodeaux talks about his favorite memories coaching in Thibodaux, reaching over 200 wins in his career, this season's Nicholls baseball squad, upcoming games, and much more!
